Anthony La Ratta Presented Trust and Estate Seminar at ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Symposia

Archer Partner, Anthony La Ratta, recently chaired and moderated the seminar, “It’s a World of Tears and a World of Fears: Crisis Management of Estates,” at the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law’s Spring Symposia, on May 10 in Orlando, Florida.

The seminar analyzed the crises that often arise after the passing of a decedent, but can begin in the estate planning process and span into the estate administration and potentially even lead to litigation. The Symposia is in its 30th year and is attended by the nation’s leading estate and trust practitioners and professionals.

Mr. La Ratta serves as Chair of the Litigation, Ethics and Malpractice Group of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section. He concentrates his practice in the area of Trust & Estate Litigation, with an emphasis on litigation involving probate matters, estates, trusts, guardianships, and fiduciaries. He has represented institutions and individuals in a variety of contexts, including banks, corporate fiduciaries, executors, trustees, beneficiaries of estates and trusts, incapacitated persons, surviving spouses, and intestate heirs. Mr. La Ratta has handled cases involving will contests, undue influence, diminished capacity, contested guardianships, writings intended as wills, breach of fiduciary duty, and accountings of estates and trusts.

Mr. La Ratta is admitted by the State of New Jersey to the roster of court-approved mediators for probate cases and has been appointed by the courts to assist in resolving such disputes through mediation.
