Celebrity Estate Plans (Part 7): Chadwick Boseman
World-renowned 42 and Black Panther actor Chadwick Bowman died in September 2020 after a 4-year battle with colon cancer. Mr. Boseman did not have a Will when he died at the young age of 43. Fortunately, all accounts reveal that Mr. Boseman’s spouse and the appointed Administrator of his estate, Taylor Simone Ledward, applied to the Court to have the actor’s approximate $2.3 million estate divided equally between herself and Mr. Boseman’s parents. Importantly, there was no opposition to this proposal, which is not always the case. Regardless of age, Mr. Boseman’s untimely death serves as an important reminder that estate planning should be considered at all stages of adulthood because you never know what the future will bring.
